They're Back!

Simone was happy to finally get her stuffed puppy Colin back after his long stay in our "stuffed animal hospital" (the top of the dryer, where they go when they've been torn or shredded). Dad sewed four animals that day, also returning snail, beaver, and bear to the flock. It's like having all new toys again!

Simone checks out a kitty unsure about the big black dog approaching her on our walk down the street. The cat hissed and swiped at her, but Simone did a good job of staying calm.

I came into the room to find Simone asleep on my new hat. What else could I do after pulling it out from under her head other than put it on her and take a photo? She didn't seem to mind!

Simone's patience with our seemingly incessant chores finally paid off for her around 5:30pm today. We took a quick drive down 53rd and parked at the fairgrounds. We walked down the bike path to the old Irish Bend Covered Bridge and back. Simone got a chance to play in the creek and run through the tall grass before heading back home.

On our way back from Oceanside, we took at detour south of Tillamook and stopped at Munson Creek Falls for a short walk.

We escaped to Oceanside for an overnighter. Only a two hour drive from Corvallis, we arrived mid-afternoon and enjoyed a long walk on the beach before making cioppino for dinner.

Visiting Tammy

Simone got to go visit our neighbor Tammy while we went to Albany to see Cabaret last night. Tammy let Simone snuggle on the couch while they watched Marley and Me. What a happy girl!

Lilac Shopping

We went shopping for lilacs at Garland Nursery north of Corvallis today. We came home with three five-gallon plants and planted them along the back fence where the butterfly bushes used to be.

We hit the Winter Farmer's Market in Corvallis today at the fairgrounds. They had a "no dogs allowed" policy in effect, so Simone had to wait outside while we picked up some kale, new potatoes, hazelnuts, and bread. Here she hangs out by one of the closed up fair booths.

We thought it would be cute to try and get a picture of Simone with a rose between her teeth.

We somehow forgot about her love of eating sticks and tearing them to shreds. Oops. Suffice it to say, not much was left of the rose. It took quite a bit of coaxing and pulling to keep her from consuming the entire flower.
At least it's high in fiber, right?
